Lago di Sorapis
One of the region’s most impressive sights, milky blue lake with mountain peak reflection. Lago di Sorapis situated itself at 1925 meters high. But the hike up there is not that hard especially when you are surrounded by beautiful nature, it will take you 2 to 3 hours.

Where to begin your hike?
The lake can only be reached by foot or by helicopter. The trial begins at Passo Tre Croci, there are plenty of parking alongside the road where you can park your car and begin the hike. Just follow the signs for path 215 to Lago di Sorapis. The trail will first go through green meadow filled with friendly cows. Don’t get scared, you’re on the right path!
The Hike to Lago di Sorapis
The hike is not that difficult, the path is not steep but there are few things to keep in mind. Walking through forest is incredibly picturesque view and will calm your mind. At the end of the forest a small river will await you, and you will have to pass it. Since there are big rocks you won’t have to wet your shoes.
Coming up from forest, the path will now lead you through rock cliffs. There are few spots that are not for those with fear of heights, but it’s nothing to be afraid of, there is a metal fence that you can hold on. Metal ladders will help you on your rocky climb as the forest again awaits you.
Other paths will intersection and you will see the Rifugio Alfonso Vandelli where you can recharge you batteries but for now take the turn right towards the lake.

Best time to visit Lago Di Sorapis
The best time to visit Lago di Sorapis is during spring and summer when the lake is at its fullest. Rifugio is also open that time so you can stop by for refreshment. Tip: try the hot chocolate, it is delicious.
