1. Fly in hot air balloon
Cappadocia has the perfect climate for hot air flying all year round. Hundreds of hot air balloons fly every morning. And you can get in one of them. It is a bit pricey, but it’s an unforgettable experience, we paid 220€ for a more extended flight, 1,5 hours. They pick you up in your hotel around 5:15 AM, and you are in the air at 5:45 AM. After flight, there’s a little traditional ceremony, and they bring you back to your hotel. Check out Royal Balloons for your flight. Prices vary from 180€ – 220€.
2. Fairy chimneys
A surreal landscape with many rock formations. Some say they look like chimneys, others say they look like mushrooms. You’ll be the judge of that. You can walk through landscapes and enjoy the out of this world feel.
3. Love valley
You can rent a bike or ATV and follow the dusty roads to Love valley. These incredible rock valleys will take your breath away. You’ll see the rock formations that are out of this world.
The Uchisar Castle rises over the Cappadocia plain and is visible for miles in any direction. It is a Castle built in a mountain and people still live in it.
5. Ballon sunrise missions
For a perfect sunrise, wake up early to be sure to catch the take-off. Many hills surrounding the area are reachable on foot. Here are the locations of two of our best morning spots that don’t get crowded: location 1 & location 2.
If you’re searching for authentic and untouched while in Cappadocia, this is it. The Cavusin Church of Saint John the Baptist is a perfect sunset spot as the sun goes down on all of the beautiful landscapes.
7. Enjoy the traditional food
We really enjoyed the food in Goreme. It is a bit touristy but you can find some authentic home style restaurants. Be sure to try pottery kebab and Manti. And of course some apple tea.
